p.s. right now Detroit is the cusp of lots of great things happening in the art world. The art community here is really flourishing! Lots of collabortive initiatives, networking events (like the Detroit Design Fest going on now), businesses & art galleries poping up all over the place, old auto factory spaces being coverted into artist loft spaces for like $300/month, and just a great welcoming and helpful vibe around the art community here in Detroit! U should def come and check out the city :
It sounds so much like Minneapolis, only in a much different sort of way that I must explore more in depth.
<poorly worded comment complimenting you on your artwork despite the fact that only about 99% of what you post on tumblr is not original content, mcad references, something about minneapolis being cool>
Probably one of the best days ever. First Zinefest at Powderhorn was amazing, got to talk to a lot of cool people and see all sorts of handmade crafts and comics. Then fed ducks at the lake with an old Cambodian man. Then hit up Fifth Element and checked out the sale, didn't buy anything. Then went biking with some great people on the rolling bike party. Such a great time dancing under a highway with hundreds of people while looking at downtown Minneapolis.
